Our primary objective is to make the Little River area an even better place to live, work and play. The Mission of the Little River Chamber of Commerce is to Promote Community Improvement, Tourism, and Commerce by Proactive Leadership and Community Involvement.
The Little River Chamber of Commerce is an independent, nonprofit, membership organization supported by more than 300 businesses and nonprofits. These organizations, and the individuals representing them, join together for the purpose of promoting the civic and economic progress of our community. The Little River area’s economic success and quality of life is directly impacted by the work the chamber performs, and unlike most chambers nationwide, the Little River Chamber of Commerce & Visitor’s Center administers local necessities in the absence of a local municipality.
Through our membership base and some of the events the chamber hosts, below are some of the ways we have reinvested back into the Little River Community.
We are proud to work with Santee Cooper & Horry County Government to be able to install community pole banners to grow the sense of community and welcome new residents and visitors to Little River.
Direct impact: A study conducted by Coastal Carolina University estimated that attendees to our festivals spend about $90 in the area, creating a combined $4.25 million economic impact for our community.
In lieu of a local municipality, the Little River Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center maintains Highway 17 & 9 Medians, the streetlights on Highway 17 & Mineola Ave, as well as the Welcome Signs in Little River.
We are grateful for our partnership with Santee Cooper, which allows us to display holiday lights throughout Little River.
We regularly sponsor local community events like Family Fun Fishing Day, Movies in the Park, The Great Pumpkin Hunt, and more.
The Little River Chamber worked directly with Horry County to provide this free public parking lot on the Historic Little River Waterfront (4460 Mineola Ave., Little River, SC 29566).
We have been known to sponsor the SC Recreation & Parks Association annual Programming Summit, encouraging them to bring groups to the Little River area. We have also recieved their the Champion of the Community award.
We partner with the Waccamaw Market Cooperative to host the Little River Farmers Market.
We have formally thanked the Little River Volunteer Firefighters for their invaluable services in the community.
We proudly promote Little River at Welcome Centers across the state.
We have formally thanked Teen Angels for the good work they do supporting homeless youth in our community.
“Shop with a Cop is a wonderful opportunity to give back, and supports our officers who are working relentlessly in on behalf of our community,” said Les Gore, Chamber Board Member.
